How it works
How this sensor works
The module emits infrared light from its transmitter. If an object is within range, the light reflects back and is picked up by the receiver. When reflected IR is detected, the sensor's digital output pin changes state, signaling that an obstacle is present. The module has an onboard potentiometer to adjust detection distance.
