How it works
How this sensor works
The sensor uses an IR-sensitive phototransistor that responds to infrared wavelengths emitted by fire. When flame is detected, the sensor's output pin changes state (digital output), and it can also provide an analog reading proportional to flame intensity. The module has an onboard potentiometer to adjust detection sensitivity.
